e-mail: gt0401b@prism.gatech.edu
Area: Supercritical Fluids
Degrees:
BS in chemical engineering, Purdue University 1995
Research Summary:
I am currently investigating the use of supercritical CO2
in extraction with polymers. Dyeing of polymers in
supercritical CO2 is possible, and processing of polymers
is being studied. A variety of areas in polymers can be
investigated under supercritical CO2 conditions, such as
mechanical properties, solubilities, and extents of
polymerization.
Bio Sketch:
On January 19, 1973 I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I grew up
in Texas, Wyoming and North Dakota, attended high school in
Waco, Texas, and then went to Purdue University for a Bachelor's
of Science in chemical engineering. During my junior year, I
attended Hannover Universitaet in Hannover, Germany, where I
studied chemical engineering and German under a DAAD scholarship
in engineering and science. Now I am presently in graduate
school at Georgia Tech. I have participated in interships with
Degussa and Hoechst Celanese, and I plan on continuing my studies
here in chemical engineering, while also planning on a minor
in economics.
